chapter 33 questions
Love is taking on a trust though understanding lags behind,
Angels cast their feather dust to seal the cracks of anxious mind,
Yet here my strength of human lust in awed expression gave in kind.
Interlude was shattered now as questions spilled from careless thought,
Never did I break my vow of love, and yet my heart besought,
Grounded by the awkward how and why, I asked – and was distraught.
Played by imps of might-have-been, I sketched a query in the air,
Ridden by the hags of doubt, obscene, my fear I pummelled bare,
In wooded glade of sylvan sheen, revealed uncertainty to spare.
Desire to know my lady's nature ripped me ragged in the light,
Elf or sylph? Her nomenclature plied my puzzle into plight.
Astride her silken flanks I pled and then demanded words from her,
Shocked, as her contentment fled, I sought her silence to infer,
Idiocy struck and shed in sticky filaments' demur.
Depth of shame encumbered me, but still I held my strident pose,
Even though my heart could see, my eyes the path of blindness chose.
