chapter 8 wave caverns
Silver-surrounded I sighed my delight,
Enshrouded in rainbows, enshawled in sea-light,
Ahead was a cavern of tumbling rays,
Spearing the sunlight in nebulous plays,
Plying the eye with a spectrum of choice,
Reinforcing adventure in colourful voice.
As I entered the cavern I tasted the brine,
Yet it savoured to me of the Neptune of wine.
Rainbows of fountains enlightened my eyes,
As I stepped through the silence that logic belies-
I reached for translucence, intangible, bright,
Newly delighted with lambent sea-sight.
Below me the ripples and ribs of the sand
Ocean above me- so where did I stand?
Weirdly, adventure was not as I planned.
Certain of nothing I vowed to explore,
Approaching mysterious caverns galore,
Venturing onward, amazed I could breathe!
Entranced by the rainbows around me a'wreathe.
Rocks? Merely shadows, a mineral ghost-
Never knowing, or counting, what moved me the most!
